LORMAN, Miss. – Alcorn State men's and women's cross-country programs released its schedule for the upcoming 2023 season on Thursday. The Braves have five meets slated on the schedule this season, four regular season and one postseason meet.
"I am extremely excited about my first cross country season at Alcorn State University," said first year Head Coach Alonzo Banks. "We have the returning SWAC Women's Cross Country Individual Champion Stella Kiptui, and we have added more outstanding athletes who will make our team stronger. We are expecting to be competitive with the men's team with the help of our new additions. This will be a very exciting season!"
The Braves season begins with a trip to Memphis, Tennessee for the City Auto Memphis Twilight Classic, Sept. 2. Next, Alcorn will head to Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Sept. 15 for the LSU Invitational.
Following the trip to Baton Rouge, the team will compete in the Nicholls Cross Country Invitational in Thibodeaux, Louisiana. The Braves round out the regular season at the Watson Collegiate Classic hosted by Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi.
The Southwestern Athletic Conference will hold the annual Cross-Country Championships in Tallahassee, Florida hosted by Florida A&M University on Oct. 24.
