LORMAN, Miss. – The Alcorn State Braves (0-2, 0-0) welcome non-conference foe McNeese State (0-2, 0-0) into Jack Spinks-Marino Casem Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 16
th for the home opener. Kick-off set for 6:00 p.m.
The game will be broadcasted live on Braves Sports Network. McNeese leads the series with Alcorn 4-1, which dates to September 23, 2000. In the last meeting, the Braves beat the Cowboys by a score of 30-19 on September 17, 2022, in Lake Charles.

The Braves tallied 171 yards on the ground last week against SFA on 37 carries.
Jarveon Howard had 17 carries with 70 yards including a 6-yard touchdown run.
Tyler Macon finished with 48 carries on six carries. As a team the Braves averaged 3.9 yards per carry.
Aaron Allen was the Braves leading passer going 5-10 for 53 yards. Five different Braves receivers had a catch in the SFA game led by
Malik Rodgers with one reception for 28 yards.
Defense Braves, Defense
The Braves defense is led by linebacker
Terreance Ellis who tallied a team high nine tackles and one sack. Defensive back
Edwin Summerour finished with seven tackles and a sack of his own. ASU has tallied six sacks as a unit after two games.
Robert McDaniel intercepted the Lumberjacks to give him a pick in both Braves contest so far this season.
Andrew Smith recorded one interception with a return of 36 yards.
Kee Wayne Jones recorded the first interception of his career against SFA.

Niko Duffey had 39 kickoff return yards on last week on three returns.
Caleb Darbone had four punts for 115 yards with an average of 28.8 yards per punt.
Kenny Lee Pham had a punting average of 31 yards on two punts. Noah Kiana put three points on the board for the Braves with a 33-yard field goal late in the second quarter.
