LORMAN, Miss. – The
Cedric Thomas era at Alcorn State University has begun as Braves Football signed 25 student-athletes on National Signing Day on Feb. 7. The Braves picked up talent to replenish its offensive and defensive lines. Coach Thomas and his staff also bolstered the secondary for the Alcorn defense. ASU signed talent from states such as Texas, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Georgia, and Louisiana.
Christopher Martin – QB, 6-2, 190 lbs.
Martin comes to "The Reservation" as a dual threat quarterback from Tifton, Ga. He will graduate from Tifton High School this spring. While at Tifton, he was a 247Sports.com 3-Star Prospect with career highlights of 5,861 passing yards for 63 passing touchdowns. Martin also All-State selection, and a National Honor Society member. Before signing to Alcorn, he had offers from Alabama State University, the University of Connecticut, Georgia Southern University, and Troy University.
Rene Miller – OL, 6-6, 335 lbs.
Miller signs to Alcorn after a stint at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and Garden City Community College. He is a Bear, Del. native and graduated from Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland in 2022. At Saint Francis, he was a 3-Star recruit. He had over 13 offers before deciding on Alcorn.
Abe Diallo – OL, 6-6, 295 lbs.
Diallo hails from Seffner, Fla. and will graduate from Armwood High School in 2024. As a Hawk, he was an offensive tackle and earned All-Conference First Team honors. Before signing with Alcorn, Diallo held offers from the University of Rhode Island, Valdosta State University, and the University of North Carolina-Pembroke.
Eric Aldridge, Jr. – OL, 6-3, 285 lbs.
The Americus, Ga. Native joins the Braves after stints at Itawamba Community College and Charleston Southern University. He was a 3-Star recruit out of Americus-Sumter High School where he earns accolades such as All-Region First Team, Offensive Lineman of the Year and All-State First Team. Before signing to Alcorn, Aldridge was courted by Central Michigan University, Hampton University, and the University of Nevada.
Jackson Pickett – OL, 6-4, 300 lbs.
Pickett comes to "The Reservation" from Decatur, Ga. Where he was named All-State Honorable Mention, All-County, All-Region as an offensive lineman. Before signing, he held offers from Morehouse University, Washburn University, Johnson C. Smith University, and Livingstone College.
Cameran Rogers – OL, 6-4, 330 lbs.
Rogers joins Braves Football from Theodore High School in Theodore, Ala. He has earned honors such as Max Preps Offensive Player of the Week and All-District (2024). Before signing to Alcorn, Rogers held offers from Mississippi Valley State University, Alabama A&M University, and Tuskegee University.
Fred Davis, Jr. – RB, 5-11, 210 lbs.
Davis, a Fortson, Ga. Native, graduated from Northside High School in Columbus, Ga. in 2018. As a Patriot, topped 1,00 rushing yards as a junior (1,047) and as a senior (1,099). He was selected as a All Bi-City Second Team (2017), and First Team (2018). From 2020-2021, he played at Mercer University and accumulated 163 carries for 847 yards (averaging 54.4 yards per carry) and 14 touchdowns. In 2023, Davis played for Garden City Community College (GCCC). He garnered such awards as Freshman All-American. Davis held offers from Towson University, the University of San Diego, and East Tennessee State University upon leaving GCCC.
Caleb Anderson – WR/TE, 6-2, 215 lbs.
Anderson comes to "The Reservation" after spending the 2023 season at the University of Akron. He is a from Brandon, Miss. and a 2020 graduate of Brandon High School. At Brandon, Davis was a 3-Star recruit. For the 2021 season, he appeared in nine games for Northeast Mississippi Community College (NMCC) and finished with 22 receptions for 307 yards and one touchdown. During the 2022 season, he appeared in 10 games for the Zips and tallied five catches for 39 yards. Anderson also posted a pair of receptions for a season-best 17 yards at Kent State University. Before signing to Alcorn, he held offers from the University of Idaho, Central Arkansas, and Murray State University.
Terrick Latham – RB, 5-9, 160 lbs.
Latham joins Alcorn Football after spending a season at Coahoma County Community College in 2023. As a Tiger, he earned Junior College All-American honors. The Mound Bayou, Miss. native graduated from Northside High School in 2022 and had offers from the University of Tennessee-Martin and Mississippi Valley State University.
Jermaine Hamilton-Jordan – DB, 6-1, 180 lbs.
Hamilton-Jordan comes to "The Reservation" as a transfer student-athlete from Hutchinson Community College and the University of Arkansas. At HCC, he recorded 45 tackles, three tackles for loss, two punt blocks, and one interception. The Kansas City, Mo. Native was also named as a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Special Team Player of the Week and helped the Blue Dragons win two KJCCC Championships. He graduated from Lincoln College Preparatory Academy in Kansas City. As a student-athlete, Hamilton-Jordan earned All-State honors and was a Sports Illustrated All-American candidate. Before signing to ASU, he had offers from the University of Miami (Ohio), the University of Tulsa, Iowa State University, the University of Kansas, and Kansas State University.
Zelly Aldridge, Jr. – DB, 6-0, 180 lbs.
The Gallion, Ark. Native joins Braves Football as a transfer student-athletes from Tuskegee University. Aldridge graduated from Linden High School and signed with the University of North Alabama after high school. While at Tuskegee, Aldridge accounted for 75 tackles, 10 pass break ups, three interceptions, one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He earned a spot on the 2022 All-Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First Team. In 2023, he was named a Black College Football Hall of Fame Player of the Week.
Malik Franklin – DB, 6-1, 190 lbs.
Franklin, a Chipley, Fla. native, comes to Alcorn as a transfer student-athletes after stints at Highland Community College (HCC) and Bethune-Cookman University. He is a graduate of James S. Rickards High School in Tallahassee, Fla. where he was a 3-Star recruit. While at HCC, he earned KJCCC Player of the Week (Sept. 24, 2023), All-KJCCC Second Team, and All-American honors. Before signing to Alcorn, Franklin held offers from Eastern Kentucky University, and the University of Tennessee-Martin.
Bakari McCall – DB, 6-1, 180 lbs.
The Shubuta, Miss. native graduated from Wayne County High School and comes to Alcorn State as a transfer student-athlete from East Mississippi Community College. During 2023 season, McCall was named to the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) First Team as he recorded 72 tackles, three interceptions, and two tackles for loss. He had offers from the University of Akron, Jackson State University, University of Tennessee-Martin, and McNeese State University before signing with Alcorn State.
Markel McLaurin – DB, 5-11, 200 lbs.
McLaurin, a Friendship, Miss. native, graduated from Collins High School as a 3-Star recruit and saw stints at the University of Southern Mississippi and Jones Community College. In 2023 at Southern Mississippi, he started in 10 games and recorded 33 tackles, 2.5 sacks, five pass breakups, one defensive touchdown and one interception. During his time at Jones, he was named to the All-MACCC First Team. Before signing with Braves Football, McLaurin had offers from Louisiana Tech University, Samford University, Stephen F. Austin University, and Tarleton State University.
Samuel Edison – LB, 6-1, 225 lbs.
Edison is a transfer student-athlete from Immokalee, Fla. comes to "The Reservation" from Livingstone College. He graduated from Immokalee High School. As a Blue Bear during the 2023 season, Edison tallied 28 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, one fumble recovery, and one pass breakup.
Jallyn Thrower – LB, 6-4, 240 lbs.
Thower will enter Alcorn State for the 2024 season as a graduate of PURE (Progressing Under Restraints and Extremes) Academy of Memphis, Tenn. for the 2023 season, he earned All-District and All-State in Tennessee.
Cedric Roberts – LB, 6-0, 225 lbs.
Hailing from Fort Valley, Ga. Roberts will come to Alcorn after graduating from Peach County High School. He earned All-State Honorable Mention, Region 2-3A Honorable Mention and Preseason All-State honors in 2022 and 2023. Before signing with the Braves, he had an offer from Stetson College.
Jaharon Griffin – LB, 5-11, 240 lbs.
Griffin, a Philadelphia, Miss. native, comes to "The Reservation" as a transfer student-athlete from the University of Akron. He graduated from Neshoba Central High School in 2021. At Neshoba Central, he registered 429 career tackles, including 272 solo stops, 48.5 tackles for loss, 12 career sacks, and 29 quarterback hurries. As a Zip, Griffin appeared in eight games in 2022 and during the 2023 season, he recorded 16 total tackles and one forced fumble.
Deitron Parker – LB, 6-0, 205 lbs.
A 2021 product of Scotlandville High School in Baton Rouge, La., Parker transfers to Alcorn State University from Monroe College. During the 2023 season as a Mustang, he recorded 22 total tackles and six tackles for loss of 16 yards.
Kaden Kenney – DL, 6-1, 280 lbs.
Kenney is a defensive end from Kilgore, Texas. He graduated from Kilgore High School in 2021. Kenney played the 2023 season at Kilgore Community College and recorded 10 total tacklers and two sacks. He also was named to the 2023 All-Southwest Junior College Conference (National Junior College Athletic Association Region XIV) Team in the Honorable Mention category.
Jahleel Anderson – DL, 6-4, 311 lbs.
Anderson joins Braves Football as a transfer student-athlete from Highland Community College. He is from Statesboro, Ga. and a 2022 graduate of Statesboro High School. Before signing with Alcorn State, he had offers from Ball State University and Delaware State University.
Ah'Morrion Ellis – DL, 6-4, 290 lbs.
Ellis hails from Port Gibson, Miss. and is a 2022 graduate of Port Gibson High School. As a member of the Blue Wave, he tallied 57 tackles and seven sacks. After PGHS, Ellis accepted a scholarship to Hinds Community College in 2022. He played two seasons at HCC and offers from McNeese State University, Indiana State University, and Mississippi Valley State University before signing with Alcorn.
Christopher Walley – DE, 6-2, 245 lbs.
Walley joins Braves Nation after spending the 2023 season at Holmes Community College. He is from Waynesboro, Miss. and a 2020 of Wayne County High School. Last season, Walley recorded 33 tackles and nine sacks. Before signing to Alcorn, he had offers from Mississippi Valley State University and Midwestern State University.
Jadyn Bost – DE, 6-3, 250 lbs.
Bost hails from Atlanta, Ga. and is a 2020 graduate of Grayson High School where he was a 3-Star recruit. He comes to "The Reservation" as a transfer student-athlete from Eastern Kentucky University where he spent 2020-2022 seasons. As a Colonel, Bost amassed 37 total tackles and one fumble recovery.
Khamari Griffin – DE, 6-3, 225 lbs.
Griffin, a Aventura, Fla. native, will enter Alcorn State after graduating from Dr. Michael K. Krop High School in Miami, Fla. Last season, he racked up 12.5 sacks, and 25 tackles for loss as well as earning a place in All-County All-Star Game in Miami.
