LAKE CHARLES, La. – Alcorn State University men's cross country competed in the McNeese State Opener at McNeese State University on Friday morning. The Braves finished the 5,000m run in fifth place with 125 points and team time of 1:29:05.

    Louisiana State University finished in first place with 26 points and time of 1:15:19. Stephen F. Austin University took second place with 44 points and time of 1:16:20. Host McNeese came in third place with 61 points and time of 1:17:56.

Alocius Kipngetich was the fastest Brave as he finished the race in 15:87.8.
Bethwel Limo crossed the finish line in 17:50.6 while Bryan Alvarez finished in 17:51.0. Corinthian Walker ended the day with a time of 19:22.0 and Elijah Moncure with 22:44.6.

    Riley Elliot of Stephen F. Austin came in first place with 14:31.9 while Casey Goetschel (LSU) was second place with 14:47.4. Ryan McCarthy took third place with 14:56.5.

    The Braves will hit the course on Saturday, Sept. 7 at the University of Texas – Tyler in Tyler, Texas.
