HOUSTON – The Alcorn State Lady Braves fell 70-48 to Texas Southern on Saturday afternoon at TSU's Health & Physical Education Arena.
Kiarra Henderson led the Lady Braves with 11 points, adding two rebounds and three steals.
Arene Iyekekpolor provided a spark off the bench with nine points, including two three-pointers. Despite their best efforts, the Lady Braves were unable to overcome Texas Southern's efficiency and size in the paint.

First Quarter – Texas Southern 19, Alcorn 13
- Texas Southern opened with a hot start, shooting 61.5% from the floor.
- Henderson kept Alcorn in the game, scoring five points in the quarter.
- Arene Iyekekpolor hit a three-pointer late in the quarter to narrow the gap.
Second Quarter – Texas Southern 37, Alcorn 27
- The Lady Braves battled back with strong play from Leyah Houston and Zy'Nyia White, who combined for nine points in the quarter.
- Texas Southern's Courtlyn Loudermill led the Lady Tigers with 10 first-half points, helping them extend their lead.
Third Quarter – Texas Southern 57, Alcorn 38
- Iyekekpolor connected on another three-pointer, but Texas Southern's defense stifled Alcorn, holding them to just 11 points in the quarter.
- Texas Southern dominated the paint, scoring 20 points inside and maintaining control of the game.
Fourth Quarter – Texas Southern 70, Alcorn 48
- The Lady Braves continued to fight, with Henderson adding five points in the final frame.
- Texas Southern's depth proved too much, as they closed the game on a 13-6 run.
