Lady Braves Fall On The Road At Texas Southern, 70-48

HOUSTON – The Alcorn State Lady Braves fell 70-48 to Texas Southern on Saturday afternoon at TSU's Health & Physical Education Arena.

Kiarra Henderson led the Lady Braves with 11 points, adding two rebounds and three steals. Arene Iyekekpolor provided a spark off the bench with nine points, including two three-pointers. Despite their best efforts, the Lady Braves were unable to overcome Texas Southern's efficiency and size in the paint.

First Quarter – Texas Southern 19, Alcorn 13
  • Texas Southern opened with a hot start, shooting 61.5% from the floor.
  • Henderson kept Alcorn in the game, scoring five points in the quarter.
