This year's home Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) schedule promises plenty of thrilling matchups, classic rivalries, and an atmosphere unlike any other in the conference. The Braves and Lady Braves will defend their home court against top SWAC contenders, including Jackson State, Mississippi Valley State, Texas Southern, and others throughout the season.
Conference play begins on the road Saturday, Jan. 3, with a doubleheader against archrival Jackson State in Jackson, Mississippi. The Lady Braves will make their home conference debut on Wednesday, Jan. 15, when they host Prairie View A&M, followed by the men opening their home conference slate on Friday, Jan. 17, as both teams take on Texas Southern in a highly anticipated matchup.
The 2025-26 season marks the first under new men's head coach
Jake Morton, who brings energy, experience, and a renewed sense of purpose to the program. Morton and his staff have added nine new players to the Braves' roster, blending young talent with veteran leadership to strengthen the team's presence in the SWAC.
On the women's side, head coach
Nate Kilbert and the Lady Braves are reloading for another deep run in the SWAC Tournament. After strong performances last season, the team returns a core group of players poised to make a statement with their defensive intensity and fast-paced attack.
