LORMAN, Miss. – A total of 65 student-athletes and support staff were celebrated on Saturday, May 10, during Alcorn State University's Spring Commencement Ceremony held inside the Davey L. Whitney HPER Complex.
The graduating class represents 11 athletic programs, and includes multiple graduate-level degree recipients. These student-athletes have not only excelled in competition but have also demonstrated outstanding achievement in the classroom, reflecting the university's commitment to academic excellence and holistic development.
"Graduating as a student-athlete is no small feat—it requires balance, perseverance, and a deep sense of purpose," said Dr. Jivanna C. Smith and
Angel Brooks-Thomas. "At Alcorn State University, our student-athletes have not only excelled in competition but have also demonstrated academic excellence and personal growth. We are immensely proud of their accomplishments and confident that they will continue to lead with integrity and impact in every arena they enter. This moment marks the beginning of a new chapter—and a celebration of all they've overcome to get here."
