ORLANDO, Fl.- Alcorn State University proudly recognizes
LaToya M. Williams, Senior Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator, for her recent selection and successful completion of the 2025 NCAA Effective Facilitation Workshop. This elite professional development experience is one of the NCAA's premier leadership programs, designed to sharpen the communication and facilitation capabilities of top administrators and coaches from across the country.
Held annually, the workshop equips participants with the tools to lead with precision, command group dynamics, and foster meaningful engagement in both athletic and academic environments. Through rigorous hands-on training, interactive simulations, and expert coaching, attendees develop the confidence and competence to guide high-impact discussions with student-athletes, staff, and senior leadership.
Williams joined a select cohort of peers in an intensive setting that challenged conventional comfort zones and placed a premium on presence, clarity, and purpose. She engaged in robust facilitation exercises, received real-time feedback, and gained the skills necessary to lead conversations that shape culture, drive decision-making, and build trust within high-performing teams.
Reflecting on the experience, Williams offered a powerful message for aspiring leaders:
"This workshop demanded that I step into the space I had long supported from behind the scenes. It stretched me, sharpened me, and reminded me that leadership is not about being present when it is convenient. It's about standing firm when your voice, clarity, and perspective are needed most. For anyone committed to growing as a transformational leader, this is not just an opportunity; it is a necessity. It is a proving ground where you define the legacy you intend to leave. It demands presence, purpose, and the will to lead in a way that outlives your position."
Upon completion, Williams became eligible to serve in national facilitation roles, including the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum and other flagship programs within NCAA leadership development. Her presence and performance reaffirm Alcorn State's commitment to cultivating leaders who are not only capable of managing systems but also influencing outcomes and inspiring progress.
Williams' continued growth reflects her personal commitment to excellence and her steadfast pursuit of mastery in leadership. Her advancement through this program reinforces the standard she sets for herself and challenges others in the profession to rise, take ownership of their development, and lead with discipline, integrity, and impact.
