QUOTES FROM COACH BANKS
"We're excited about the opportunity to compete at Mississippi State. The Alumni Bulldog Relays is a great early-season meet, and we're looking forward to seeing where our guys and girls stack up against some quality competition."
Â
"The transition from indoor to outdoor is always a process. We're focused on building on what we established indoors and making sure our athletes are mentally and physically ready to perform at a high level as we move through the outdoor calendar."
Â
"Our kids have been putting in the work day in and day out. This meet gives us a chance to shake off some of the early-season rust and start finding our rhythm outdoors. I'm looking forward to seeing that work translate onto the track."
Â
"Any time you get to compete in an atmosphere like Starkville, it's a tremendous experience for our student-athletes. It raises the competitive bar and helps prepare them for the big moments later in the season."

ABOUT MIKE SANDERS TRACK COMPLEX
On Friday, April 10, 2015, the Mississippi State University track was named the Mike Sanders Track Complex after former track standout Michael W. Sanders.
Â
Over the past several years, the track stadium at MSU has seen many enhancements. A brick grandstand was added in 2013 and holds about 3,000 people. MSU played host to for the 2015 SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 14-16 at the newly dedicated Mike Sanders Track Complex. Also during the 2015 season, MSU hosted the Border Clash and the Jace LaCoste Invitational.
Â
Work was completed on Mississippi State's $3.2 million renovation to the Carl Maddox Track at W.O. Spencer Stadium in 2011 in time for several MSU home meets during that spring, including the SEC/Big 10 Challenge in March. The state-of-the-art facility features nine lanes, a steeplechase water jump and high jump, pole vault and long/triple jump areas, in addition to a javelin runway and shot put, hammer and discus throw rings.
