PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – Alcorn State volleyball dropped a three-set match to Prairie View A&M (25-10, 25-12, 25-13) Monday evening inside the Baby Dome.
Courtney Carter led the Lady Braves with seven kills and seven digs, while Rylan Jones followed closely with six kills on an efficient .429 hitting percentage. Kyla Powell added three kills, and Juliana Henao paced the offense with 17 assists. Defensively, libero Tomoni Giddings anchored the back line with 19 digs.
Alcorn totaled 20 kills on a .077 team hitting percentage and registered 33 digs as a team.
Prairie View A&M (15-11, 12-1 SWAC) hit an impressive .359, led by Kylee Owens and Valencia Wilder with 10 kills apiece.
With the loss, Alcorn State moves to 2-23 overall and 1-11 in SWAC play. The Lady Braves will look to regroup as they return home for their next conference contest.
