LORMAN, Miss. – The women's soccer program saved its best performance of the season for last, stifling the Mississippi University for Women for the program's largest shutout victory in Alcorn's history on Senior Day, 4-0.

The monumental win was only the 15th shutout over the team's 17-year tenure and was its biggest margin of victory, tying an identical 4-0 triumph over Arkansas-Pine Bluff in the 2007 regular season finale. It was only the Purple and Gold's fifth-ever non-conference win with its last one coming against Nicholls in 2017.

As a unit, Alcorn's 27 shot attempts were double its previous high for the season (13) while the 13 shots-on-target were three-times more than their former season-best (4).

Senior and all-time great Mireya Gonzalez was the ringleader on the afternoon, recording her second career hat trick while setting a personal-high of five shots-on-goal in the process. She concluded her tenure on "The Reservation" among the school's top-five leaders for points (28), goals (12) and assists (4) plus earned a spot on the All-SWAC Second Team to cap it all off.

Starting goalkeeper Mikayla Shaughnessy was a wall in front of the net, stopping five shots and doing the majority of the work in pitching the shutout as she spent all but a minute and 20 seconds between the pipes.

Kiarra Colson got the party started in the 18th minute as she drilled home her first goal as a Lady Brave to put the ladies from Lorman ahead for good to go along with a season-best five shots-on-goal.

Rosalina Santoro, Paula Solé Cabeza, and Emily Serrato all recorded an assist in the blowout while the latter two of that trio took three on-target shots between them.
